A music photographer for 18 years and counting, learn about Stewart Fullerton's extraordinary journey.

Stewart Iain Fullerton is a self-taught, award winning Scottish music photographer who started Photography in 2007 as a way to escape the computer screen, buying his first camera from a friend for £50, he is still an active photographer 17 years later.

Fullerton spent his early days of photography photographing his local parks, visiting the likes of Kelvingrove Park, Pollock Country Park, Rouken Glen Park and even travelling to the less desirable parks like Tollcross, to take pictures with his new toy.

His lucky break came in September 2007 after submitting a couple of pictures he took of his local parks to a competition "just for the fun of it". His picture of the "foot" in Bellahouston Park was selected as the Scotland winner for Postcards From The Park 2007, with the main judge being Mike McCartney, the younger brother of the legendary Sir Paul McCartney. A delighted Fullerton would then travel to London to meet McCartney and also Absolutely Fabulous actress Joanna Lumley, it was then when the 23 year old Fullerton realised "I could be something here!".

Stewart took up the world of music photography in the winter of 2007, becoming friendly with local promoters and bands, being invited to their gigs via MySpace and going on tour with The Ramblers. In 2008, Fullerton would win Postcards From The Park for a second time, meeting Mike McCartney in London for a second time also.

From 2008 onwards Stewarts work got the attention of many magazines and online publications, such as The Skinny and Rokbun, who gave him the opportunities to photograph more established bands than the local unsigned acts that he was covering at the time, photographing the likes of Coolio, Deacon Blue, Hot Chip and Paolo Nutini. Another publisher that caught the eye was Glasgowmusic.co.uk, who is owned by Fullertons good friend and former Live Nation employee, Craig McGee, 15 years after joining Glasgowmusic he continues to contribute to the website.

Fast forward to this current day and Fullerton now photographs some of the biggest bands in the world, photographing the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Alice Cooper, Blondie, Tom Jones, Foo Fighters, The Who, Rod Stewart, Slash, Alice In Chains, Take That, Roxy Music, Van Morrison, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cyndi Lauper, Sum 41, Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, The Cure, MCR, Status Quo, Snoop Dogg, Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Arctic Monkeys, Tenacious D, Simple Minds and many more.

His work has also been featured in the likes of The Guardian, Ravechild, The List, The Daily Record, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Mail and the BBC. He has also received positive feedback from local bands, venues as well as from the odd celebrity.
